Depression therapy
Feeling low, lost, or isolated?
Depression therapy can help you navigate the unique challenges of living in today's world. The first global pandemic changed our everyday lives, the way we socialize, the way we do school, and where, when, and how we work. It took family members, friends, and our sense of safety. It also required many families to relocate to new areas, which is a challenge in itself.
Depression therapy also addresses the everyday pressures that weigh on you, not just the big, world-changing events. Issues with friends, strained family dynamics, and school or work stress can all pile up and leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. You don't have to carry it alone.
In counseling we can work on:
feelings of sadness
bouts of crying
disruptions in sleep
difficulty concentrating
disinterest
self-isolation
changes in weight or eating habits
I want you to enjoy your life. There will always be challenges but, I would like to work on ways for you to manage and cope with these challenges so that they don’t continually bring you down. We will work together to find the good, look for hope, and find healthy coping skills that work for you.

Everyone's journey is different. Some people notice shifts in how they feel within a few weeks, while others benefit from longer term support. The timeline depends on factors like the severity of your symptoms, your personal goals, and how consistently we meet. I check in regularly to make sure our work together is helping.

I draw from several evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I do not believe in a one size fits all method, so I adapt my approach based on what resonates with you and what helps you make progress.

I often suggest skill based practices to try between sessions because healing happens in your daily life, not just in our time together. These are not worksheets or busy work. Instead, they are personalized exercises designed to help you apply what we discuss. If homework does not feel helpful to you, we can adjust.

That is completely normal and more common than you might think. Depression does not always have an obvious cause, and you do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Part of our work together is gently exploring what might be contributing to how you feel.
