Are you “shy”? Hard on yourself?

We go through a lot of changes as we grow. Physical, emotional, intellectual, social, moral….the list continues. Discovering who we are through all of this can be challenging. Having confidence in that Self is even more challenging! Social media, our peers, and even our families try to get us to compare ourselves to others. It’s hard to live up to all that sometimes. It can feel exhausting and defeating….

In counseling we can work on:

  • negative thoughts

  • critical self view

  • low self-worth

  • feeling defeated/hopeless in school and beyond

  • feeling invisible

  • attempting to be perfect all of the time

I want you to prioritize your needs because they are equally as important as others’. I want you to stop apologizing for things that are not your fault. Together we can work on setting boundaries and communicating those boundaries to friends/family. We will practice setting goals and making decisions. You will learn to love, and hopefully, be proud of yourself.
